Michigan Primary Care Association is committed to working with members and partner agencies to better understand and respond to the

needs of homeless individuals and families.
Michigan's Campaign to End Homelessness 2010 Annual Summary reports that there are 100,176 homeless people in Michigan. A few additional facts:
- Since the 2009 count of 100,001 there has been an increase of 0.17% homeless people in Michigan
- In 67% of homeless families, a single female is the head of the household
- 53% of homeless consist of adults and children in families
- 40% of homeless adults reported presence of a disability of long duration
- Average age of homeless adults is 39 years old
- Average age of homeless children is 7 years old
- 46% reported being homeless for the first time in 2010
