Cancer and Tobacco

Michigan Primary Care Association is participating a HRSA grant supporting the integration of tobacco treatment into Michigan Community Health Centers.  Outstanding trainers guided by a steering committee developed a curriculum designed specifically for Community Health Centers following the high standards set by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Feature Story: Help Patients With Disabilities Quit Tobacco! (New Resource Now Available)

Did you know that smoking rates are disproportionately higher in persons with any type of disability (29.9% vs. 19.8% in the general population) and that they are more likely to be heavy smokers?

Everyone has the right to be healthy! A new, free brochure is available to help! To order copies of the brochure, "Information for People with Disabilities and Their Caregivers on how to Quit Tobacco," please contact Lynda Meade at lmeade@mpca.net.
