Outreach and Enrollment

The facts on the ground in Michigan are clear- the number of uninsured children in our state is on the rise. Kid Coloring

From 2006 to 2007 the percentage of uninsured children rose from 4.7% to 6.2%, and amongst the youngest children age 0 to 5 years old the rate jumped from 4.6% to 7.8%.

To combat this growing trend MPCA, in partnership with the Michigan Association of United Ways, has launched a two-year grassroots initiative to perform outreach and enroll children across the state of Michigan in two free and low-cost health insurance programs, HealthyKids and MIChild.

In addition, we will be offering many training and peer-to-peer networking opportunities to develop the Michigan's outreach and enrollment infrastructure in local communities.

Enrollment events take place across the state in partnership with local organizations, there is no appointment necessary and staff will help you complete an application for benefits at any event!

Becoming a Program Partner

Training and Networking


Outreach and Enrollment Network

MPCA is working to form a new network for outreach and enrollment staff and volunteers from Community Health Centers and other partners across the state.

This network will bring best practices, training and opportunities for peer learning to participants through conference calls, webinars and some face-to-face meetings.
