Today the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) launched the new "Access is the Answer" campaign during a national teleforum. The goal of the campaign is to show every policymaker and every American that protecting and investing in Health Centers is a solution to many of the most difficult problems facing our health care system. It is critical that every Health Center and every advocate participate in the "Access is the Answer" campaign by taking these three easy action steps:

1) Sign and circulate the Access is the Answer petition—this is a continuation of the successful "Fix the Cliff" petition drive from 2013 and calls on Congress and the President to commit to preventing a 70% reduction in Health Center program funding that looms at the end of Fiscal Year 2015. The first campaign goal is for every single Health Center across the country to collect at least 500 signatures by the end of March 2014.

2) Every Health Center collect at least 5 support letters from your Local Elected Officials—visit the Local Elected Officials Letter page to access templates and report forms.

3) Every Health Center collect at least 10 support letters from Community Supporters, such as your local hospital, chamber of commerce, civic groups, churches and others—visit the Community Supporter Letter page to access templates and report forms.

Both the petition and letters are addressed to Congress and the President and send a critical message about the importance of supporting Health Centers and showcase the outpouring of key support from the entire community back home. If you were unable to listen to the February 11th live teleforum, click here for a transcript and recording of the call. You can also watch a video message from NACHC's Senior Vice President for Public Policy & Research, Dan Hawkins, explaining the campaign and how YOU and YOUR HEALTH CENTER can take action.
