Baldwin Family Health Care Unveils Remodeled Great Lakes Family Care Clinic, Adds Dental Services
Thursday, June 19, 2014
Baldwin Family Health Care celebrated the completion of renovations at Great Lakes Family Care with an open house on June 10, 2014. The facility offers primary medical, dental, pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services to residents of the greater Cadillac area.
Renovation of the original facility took place over the long Michigan winter, and was in response to the oral health needs of the area’s medically underserved residents. Due to space constraints, Great Lakes Family Care was previously not able to offer dental services. With the conversion of 3,000 square feet of space into a new, state-of-the-art dental center housing seven operatories, residents of Wexford, Missaukee, and surrounding counties now have a place to go for preventive and restorative oral health care that is integrated with medical and behavioral health care.
Other facility improvements include a remodeled reception area, improving patient flow; relocation of the pharmacy from the middle of the building nearer to the entrance for easy access; and renovation of the medical center to include a new waiting room and office area for nurses and medical assistants.
"Family Health care is pleased to serve the Cadillac community as well as surrounding communities. The addition of oral health services, expansion of pharmacy, and a patient centered integration of services will more fully align our care approaches to the needs people we serve," said Kathy Sather, President & Chief Executive Officer, Baldwin Family Health Care.
Renovations were made possible in part by grant funding through the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Kresge Foundation. Financing was made possible by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Lake Osceola State Bank.
