Northwest Michigan Health Services, Inc. Welcomes New CEO

Heidi Britton, MPH, CPHA joined Northwest Michigan Health Services, Inc. (NMHSI) as Chief Executive Officer at the end of July, taking the helm from Linda Shively who recently retired. Shively served as interim CEO for 18 months and was instrumental in the organization’s CEO search and selection of Britton.
Britton comes from Illinois, where she served as Public Health Administrator of the Knox County Health Department and Chief Executive Officer of the Knox Community Health Center since 2009. Prior to that she oversaw a school Health Center, served in the U.S. Peace Corps as a community health educator in Central Asia, and coordinated the Public Health Practitioner Certification Board in Chicago.
NMHSI is a Migrant Health Center serving Antrim, Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Benzie, Manistee, Mason, and Oceana Counties, and operates Health Center sites in Bear Lake, Shelby, and Traverse City.
