Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center Recognized as Site of Excellence

The Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center has received recognition as a Site of Excellence through the Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR) for their Pediatric Clinic in Hancock.
On a quarterly basis, local health departments nominate doctor offices or clinics for this aware. Nominations are reviewed by the regional MCIR coordinator for the selection of a winner.
Kathleen Mell, RN, BSN, Community Health Coordinator at Western Upper Peninsula Health Department nominated the Center for their consistency in a 77% immunization rate in children 19 to 36 months, diligent vaccine inventory management, willingness to assist other sites with vaccine management and successfully uploading vaccination records to MCIR.
