Michigan Tobacco Hotline Achieves Milestone

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announced the Michigan Tobacco Quitline has reached more than 100,000 callers since it began operations in 2003. The Quitline offers free information, services and referrals to Michigan residents who want to quit using tobacco. The current adult smoking rate in Michigan is 21.4 percent – a rate higher than the national median of 19 percent.
The Michigan Tobacco Quitline is available seven days a week from 7 am to 1 am ETY and can be reached at 1.800.QUIT.NOW or http://michigan.quitlogix.org/.
