Health Care Industry Contributes $33 Billion to State's Economy

The health care industry in Michigan contributes $33 billion to the State's economy according to a new report released by the Partnership for Michigan's Health, which is comprised of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, Michigan State Medical Society, and Michigan Osteopathic Association.
- Michigan health care organizations provided more than 578,900 jobs in 2013
- Health care's impact is comparable to the manufacturing and education industry combined
- 19% of Michigan's jobs are directly or indirectly related to or induced by health care
