Legislation Saves Healthy Michigan Plan
Tuesday, January 5, 2016
Health coverage for more than 585,000 economically vulnerable patients was recently saved by a federal decision that assures survival of the Healthy Michigan Plan.
“The decision is great news for the more than 585,000 low-income Michigan residents whose health care coverage hung in the balance,” said Molly Kaser, president and CEO of the Center for Family Health in Jackson. “Healthy Michigan patients now know their benefits and coverage will continue beyond 2016, and they will have uninterupted access to health care.”
“In Michigan and across the nation, we’ve made tremendous progress expanding access to health care, and the Healthy Michigan Plan is a vital part of our progress," added Kaser. “Michigan can keep moving forward in opening the door to health care, instead of turning back.”
