Asthma Training for Medical Assistants
These training and educational modules have been design specifically with Medical Assistants in mind, and can be used effectively on an individual basis or as part of group training. The modules focus on increasing basic knowledge of the related disease process and the specific role of the Medical Assistant as a member of the TEAM caring for these patients. All of the modules were developed using Michigan Quality Improvement Consortium (MQIC) and other evidence-based guidelines. Health Centers using these modules should consider:

  • The development of a pre- and post-test to measure knowledge change
  • Having Medical Assistants review Health Center-specific policies, procedures, and standing orders related to these disease processes
