This updated guideline is a comprehensive compilation of new and longstanding federal recommendations about biomedical, behavioral, and structural interventions that can help reduce the risk of HIV transmission from persons with HIV by reducing their infectiousness and their risk of exposing others to HIV.
  

HIV and HCV Testing: What's New in the Reference Laboratory?

Developments in HIV and HCV therapy have yielded several classes of anti-viral drugs that are effective in reducing the viral burden in infected individuals to “undetectable” levels. Consequently the guidelines for diagnosis, early detection of infection and treatment monitoring have been revised and updated. In tandem with improvements in therapy is the development of new tests for diagnosis, selection, and monitoring of treatment. These tests as performed in a reference laboratory were described.

Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC) - Michigan Website

Implementing Routine HIV Screening

America's Health Centers are a major source of HIV prevention, care and treatment in the health care safety net. According to UDS data, health centers provided HIV testing to 883,548 patients in 2011. About 10 percent of health centers receive funding through Part C of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program.

Common Patient Assistance Program Application Tool

The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, working collaboratively with seven pharmaceutical companies, the National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors, and community stakeholders, has taken the lead in developing a common patient assistance program application tool that can be used by patients and providers beginning on September 12, 2012. This form is a one-stop shop that collects the necessary information required of HIV patient assistance program applicants.
