2016 Marketplace Open Enrollment a Success in Michigan

Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) would like to congratulate Health Center Outreach and Enrollment (O/E) staff on another successful Health Insurance Marketplace open enrollment!

At the end of the 2016 Marketplace open enrollment period, January 31, 2016, 345,813 Michiganders had enrolled or renewed for coverage—that’s an increase of over 4,900 consumers from the previous enrollment period! Certified enrollment staff at Michigan Health Centers were integral in answering questions and helping community residents enroll and renew Marketplace coverage as well as Medicaid, MI Child, and Healthy Michigan Plan coverage. Health Center O/E staff enrolled nearly 9,000 Michiganders in coverage between October and December 2015.

Marketplace open enrollment may be over, but enrollment in Medicaid programs and Marketplace Special Enrollment Periods keep Health Center O/E staff busy all year long. You can find up-to-date enrollment numbers in our bi-weekly Health Coverage Enrollment Report.

Consumers looking for answers about Michigan health coverage can visit, a project of MPCA designed to help individuals understand how to apply for coverage in Michigan and then learn about their new benefits and make the most of their health coverage.
