Health Centers have a critical role in outreach and enrollment, and it’s an exciting time in the field as there are a multitude of current and upcoming opportunities for Health Centers to engage in and expand outreach and enrollment services. Michigan Health Centers assist patients in determining their eligibility for state, federal, or community programs. MPCA, in turn, assists Health Center outreach and enrollment staff through technical assistance.
Key Outreach & Enrollment Connections
- On February 24, 2016, Tricia Brooks, from the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, joined us to provide an update on tax related issues and premium tax reconciliation. A recording of the webinar can be accessed here.
- MPCA held a webinar on April 6, highlighting the Outreach and Enrollment Network Assessment Survey. If you missed the webinar, it can be accessed here. During the webinar MPCA also highlighted and summarized the findings of the Who are the Remaining Uninsured, and What do Their Characteristics Tell Us About How to Reach Them? report done by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Urban Institute. This report is a good resource for outreach efforts.
- On July 27, MPCA hosted a webinar on self-care. We highlighted the self-care starter kit developed by the University of Buffalo School of Social Work. Self-care refers to activities and practices that we can engage in on a regular basis to reduce stress and maintain and enhance our short- and longer-term health and well-being. Self-care is necessary for your effectiveness and success in honoring your professional and personal commitments. The webinar is available here.
- MPCA prepares a bi-weekly report on the number of Healthy Michigan Plan enrollments by county, including beneficiary enrollment in health plans and progress toward enrollment goals. MPCA recently added weekly Health Insurance Marketplace enrollment snapshot data and HMP progress report data to the bi-weekly report. Click to view MPCA's Health Coverage Enrollment Report. You can also view weekly enrollment totals provided by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
