DESCRIPTION:\n\nOverview\nWe hope you can join us for our first "Managing f
 or Impact: 2-Day Health Center Manager Training (In-Person)" with April Le
 wis!  This is an intense and interactive 2-day training that will take pl
 ace on April 2-3\, 2026\, at The Henry Center located in Lansing\, MI.\n\n
 Please note:  We welcome out-of-state health centers to join us as well!!
 \n\n\n\nDay 1: Building Strong Foundations for Effective People Management
 \nTime: 9:00 a.m. | 5:00 p.m.\nThis in-person training will provide manage
 rs with the essential skills to lead inclusive\, high performing teams. Pa
 rticipants will deepen their understanding of people management principles
  by beginning with self-awareness\, examining their identities and managem
 ent styles\, and how these influence team interactions. Managers will gain
  practical tools to build trust and authentic connections within diverse t
 eams\, and learn strategies to cultivate a sense of belonging in which all
  team members feel valued and empowered. The session then guides participa
 nts in leading with clarity and purpose by crafting a vision aligned with 
 organizational strategic goals. Managers will explore practical methods fo
 r communicating this vision effectively\, ensuring team buy-in\, and engag
 ement. Additionally\, participants will learn best practices for establish
 ing consistent communication through group and one-on-one interactions\, c
 reating environments where feedback is encouraged and difficult conversati
 ons are approached constructively. The session emphasizes building safe an
 d brave\nspaces that empower team members to reflect\, learn from mistakes
 \, and contribute to continuous improvement.\n\nLearning Outcomes. Partici
 pants will be able to: \n\n 	Explore self-awareness\, including understan
 ding one’s identity\, dominant management styles\, and the implications 
 of managing diverse teams.\n 	Build trust\, connection\, and a sense of be
 longing within their teams.\n 	Visualize team success in alignment with or
 ganizational goals and communicate that vision effectively.\n 	Develop col
 laborative and supportive goal-setting processes.\n 	Establish regular com
 munication cadences in group and one-on-one settings.\n 	Build a culture o
 f feedback and engage in difficult conversations constructively.\n 	Create
  safe and brave spaces for reflection and growth.\n\nDay 2: Developing Peo
 ple and Navigating Complexity\nTime: 9:00 a.m. | 4:00 p.m.\nThis segment f
 ocuses on fostering team growth while equipping managers to handle the com
 plex challenges inherent in FQHC environments. Participants will explore h
 ow to provide meaningful opportunities that empower team members to contri
 bute in impactful ways and practice delivering consistent\, timely feedbac
 k that balances support with accountability. Managers will learn to define
  personalized development plans addressing both short-term goals and long-
 term career growth\, ensuring each team member can visualize organizationa
 l advancement. The segment also combines essential hiring practices to hel
 p managers attract\, select\, and onboard top candidates effectively and c
 ompliantly. Participants will learn advanced interviewing techniques\, inc
 luding behavioral questioning and open-ended probing\, to reveal candidate
 s' skills\, values\, and alignment with the FQHC environment\, as well as 
 strategies for creating welcoming onboarding experiences that promote rete
 ntion from day one. Finally\, managers will gain insights into managing co
 mplex communication challenges\, guiding teams through change\, and resolv
 ing conflicts effectively. They will learn to recognize and adapt to diver
 se communication styles\, fostering mutual understanding and respect. Day 
 2 introduces tools for addressing high-conflict situations with tact and p
 rofessionalism\, emphasizing de-escalation and collaborative problem-solvi
 ng. Particularly relevant to FQHCs facing constant regulatory\, operationa
 l\, and community-driven changes\, managers will learn strategies to suppo
 rt and reassure their teams during transitions.\n\nLearning Outcomes. Part
 icipants will be able to:\n\n 	Provide team members with opportunities to 
 grow and contribute in new\, impactful ways.\n 	Deliver consistent\, timel
 y feedback that includes both support and accountability.\n 	Develop team 
 members individually\, focusing on short-term growth and long-term career 
 development\n 	Use techniques to ensure job descriptions and interviews at
 tract and identify the best candidates.\n 	Welcome new employees and set t
 hem up for success.\n 	Identify and adapt to diverse communication styles 
 using empathy and flexibility.\n 	Develop conflict resolution techniques\,
  prioritizing de-escalation and mutually beneficial solutions\n 	Lead team
 s through change by offering clear guidance and providing emotional and pr
