LANSING, Mich. — The Michigan Primary Care Association’s interim chief executive officer, Dennis Litos, issued the following statement in response to the U.S. District Court’s ruling that invalidates Medicaid work requirements in Michigan:

“This news comes as a huge relief to Michigan’s community health centers, which form the backbone of the state’s health care safety net. More than half of all health center patients are covered by Medicaid or the Healthy Michigan Plan, a program that’s enabled them to improve their own health and wellness, become productive members of their communities, and gain and maintain employment. We’re confident that this decision will help more health center patients keep the insurance they need to get and stay healthy — without unnecessary reporting burdens or confusion.”
