ICD-10 Resources Available on MPCA Website

MPCA's website now includes a new ICD-10 webpage and online ICD-10 Resource Library.

The current ICD-9 code set will soon be replaced by the more detailed ICD-10, with a deadline for the transition of October 1, 2014. This is a major change requiring time, effort and preparation—all Health Centers will be extensively impacted. There will be a substantial increase in the number of codes (five times as many) that health care providers use when coding a patient's diagnosis. Clinicians and all billing/coding staff will need to learn when and how to use the new diagnosis codes to submit accurate claims and ensure reimbursement stays on track.

MPCA is working hard to assist Michigan Health Centers and MPCA members through this transition. Please refer to these webpages for resources and contact Phillip Bergquist or Brittany Beard with questions or suggested resources to add.
