Phillip Bergquist of Michigan Primary Care Association Recognized for Leadership

LANSING, Mich. – Phillip Bergquist has been selected as one of seven national Emerging Leaders by the George Washington University’s School of Public Health and Health Services’ Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy. He was presented the award during the National Association of Community Health Centers’ Policy & Issues Forum held in Washington, DC, on March 22, 2014.

The Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy’s annual Emerging Leader Award recognizes young individuals for commitment, motivation, professional achievement, and leadership that together advances the Health Center mission


Bergquist serves as the director of Health Center operations and CHIPRA director at Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA), a statewide association representing Michigan’s Health Centers and other community-based providers. In this role, Bergquist provides technical assistance, guidance, and educational opportunities to support Health Centers in operating as stable, innovative, and growing organizations. He also manages MPCA’s outreach and enrollment programs, and is a member of the Association’s management team.
