BAD AXE, Mich. – The new Health Delivery Inc. Thumb Area Community Health Center opened its doors for the first time Tuesday morning as part of its grand opening festivities.

The health center took more than three years to come to fruition and will now be able to offer quality health care to an expected 5,000 people annually, particularly those in the county that are uninsured or under insured. According to Robert Wood Johnson County Health Rankings, Huron County has more than 4,000 uninsured residents and more than 10,000 vulnerable community members, including people with disabilities who are unable to work, recent drug users and community members with major depression.

"We will be able to provide these services because of the teamwork of the people in this area,” said Dr. Brenda Coughlin, president and CEO of Health Delivery Inc., to the more than 40 people who gathered at the event. Read more (Source: Huron Daily Tribune)
