National Health Center Week 2014 (#NHCW2014) is officially underway across the country. President Barack Obama has issued a Presidental proclamation marking National Health Center Week 2014, and in our own state, Governor Rick Snyder has proclaimed August 10-16 Health Center Week in Michigan.

Michigan Primary Care Association salutes Michigan Health Centers for serving as local engines for healthier Michigan communities, and we thank each and every staff member, board member, health care provider, and volunteer for your commitment and dedication to the Health Center mission. Each year during National Health Center Week, three days are designated to recognize special populations served by Health Centers. This year Public Housing Health Centers Day will be celebrated on August 12, Health Care for the Homeless Day will be celebrated on August 13, and Farmworker Health Day will be celebrated on August 14.

To underscore the theme of this year's National Health Center Week, "Celebrating Health Centers: Local Engines for Healthier Communities," the National Association for Community Health Centers (NACHC) has released three new info graphics that show how America's Health Centers are generating a "ripple effect" of economic benefits as well as improved public health in more than 9,000 U.S. communities:
