Michigan Primary Care Association (MPCA) congratulates Packard Health on receiving Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Look-Alike certification from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), based on recommendations of the Health Resources and Services Administration.

“This FQHC-Look-Alike certification ensures Packard Health’s future financial viability while allowing Packard Health to extend its services to people still without access to care in Washtenaw County. We have assembled an extraordinary medical and support team who believe in our mission to be the medical home for people and families from all backgrounds,” said Raymond Rion, MD, Chief Executive Officer, Packard Health.

Packard Health has served the community since 1973, providing exceptional patient-centered care to thousands of Washtenaw County residents. Using an integrated approach, it offers primary medical and behavioral health care services at two locations in Ann Arbor. The care team at Packard Health also supports people in managing chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes; provides nutrition counseling and health education; and helps connect individuals and families to health insurance coverage that best meets their needs.

“We celebrate Packard Health’s new designation because establishing more Health Centers in Michigan expands access to care for more Michigan residents,” said Kim Sibilsky, Chief Executive Officer, Michigan Primary Care Association. “Health Centers providing comprehensive primary care is a key strategic tool in assuring that underserved areas and populations have access to care where they need it, when they need it, and at a price they can afford.”

Packard Health is now one of Michigan’s 40 Health Center organizations, which provide quality, comprehensive, affordable primary and preventive care to more than 600,000 Michiganders at over 240 delivery sites across the state. The doors of Health Centers are open to all, regardless of insurance status or income level.
