Cherry Health is fundraising for more than $1 million to open a teen HEalth Center inside the Grand Rapids Public Schools Innovation Central High School campus and for renovations and equipment for an existing Health Center site in the Cedar Springs Public School system.

"It is in our mission to serve the most underserved of our community and we find that there is a larger number attending Innovation Central," said Chris Shea, CEO of Cherry Health.

Innovation Central Principal Mark Frost said 80 percent of their students meet the poverty guidelines for free and reduced lunch. He said having the health services on campus will be tremendous resource and help keep kids in school.

"I know many of our students don't have access to medical and dental treatment and this is going to allow them to receive the medical attention they deserve in our building," said Frost.
