Center for Family Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Dentist to join our Dental team. This role is ideal for a provider who is passionate about improving oral health outcomes for infants, children, adolescents, and individuals with special healthcare needs, including patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Pediatric Dentist will play an important role in providing high-quality dental care, education, prevention, and treatment in a team-based clinical environment.

The Pediatric Dentist helps create a positive, safe, and supportive dental experience for children and families while promoting lifelong oral health. This position supports access to care, prevention of oral disease, and treatment for pediatric patients who may face complex health, developmental, or social barriers.
What You’ll Do
- Provide high-quality oral health care in accordance with State of Michigan regulatory guidelines and CFH protocols.
- Diagnose, treat, and educate patients and families on oral health, prevention, and disease management.
- Obtain health histories and assess patient needs to determine whether modifications to care or consultation are needed.
- Perform minimal to moderate procedural sedation for appropriate pediatric dental patients.
- Accurately document diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, and patient care in the electronic health record.
- Follow infection prevention and control standards, including CFH protocols and CDC guidelines.
- Supervise the clinical work of dental assistants, dental hygienists, students, and residents.
- Assist with training clinical staff and supporting team development.
- Collaborate with staff across the health center to support whole-person care and address barriers to treatment.
- Refer patients for care beyond the scope of CFH services when appropriate.
- Participate in required meetings, committees, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Michigan Dentist License and Michigan Pediatric Dentistry License.
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program.
- Board certified or board eligible preferred.
- BLS and PALS certifications or ability to obtain.
- DEA license or ability to obtain.
- Controlled Substance License or ability to obtain.
- Strong clinical judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
