WASHINGTON. D.C.–Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the president issued an Executive Order extending open enrollment for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) from February 15, 2021 – May 15, 2021.
During the Special Enrollment Period (SEP), Americans who are uninsured for any reason may purchase health insurance through the ACA marketplace. Individuals who are already insured through the ACA but would like to change their current plan may do so at this time as well. Visit healthcare.gov to get started and read frequently asked questions about the SEP.
MPCA member health centers can assist people needing health insurance. Trained Certified Application Counselors are available to work remotely one-on-one to help ensure that enrollees receive the premium subsidies and cost-sharing reductions they may be income-qualified to receive.
