Registration is now open for the 2024 MPCA Clinical Services and Quality Conference! This two-day in-person event will take place at the Ann Arbor Marriott Ypsilanti at Eagle Crest in Ypsilanti, Michigan on May 15 and 16, 2024. The conference is aimed at Michigan Community Health Centers, and it will concentrate on integrative strategies that promote patient-centered, cost-effective, and quality care.
Day One will open will a keynote session provided by Patricia Braun MD, MPH, FAAP. Dr. Braun is a Professor of Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Public Health and Dental Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, Colorado School of Public Health, and University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She is a practicing pediatrician at Denver Health and Hospital (a large federally qualified health center) and an oral health disparity researcher at the University of Colorado Center for Native Oral Health Research and Adult and Children’s Consortium for Research and Dissemination Science.
The remainder of Day One will center on some of the people, processes and programs that support improving access to care for vulnerable populations. These sessions will showcase how the role and scope of a clinical pharmacist and dental therapist can be utilized to increase touch points with patients. Presentations will also highlight the patient benefits of receiving care in a delivery setting that has embedded the Collaborative Care Model and that provides the national Diabetes prevention education internally. We will also address sexual health stigma by providing equitable and inclusive approaches that build care team capacity and patient access to STI screening.
Day Two will continue the discussion around capacity building and tools to ensure chronic disease, oral health and mental health screenings are accessible to everyone. Then in the afternoon we will spend the remainder of our time together discussing care management and care coordination strategies that support decreasing avoidable utilization. The final session will be formatted as more of a workshop. We will engage in some process mapping around how best to incorporate the role of a CHW within an integrative model of care.

Physicians | 12.25 CMEs
The AAFP has reviewed 2024 MPCA Clinical Services and Quality Conference and deemed it acceptable for up to 12.25 Live AAFP Elective credit(s). Term of Approval is from 05/15/2024 to 05/16/2024. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Nursing | 12.25 CEUs
This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Social Work | 10.5 CEUs
This continuing professional development activity was approved by the State of Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative (CEC), an accredited approver by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Community Health Worker (CHW) | 12 CEUs
This educational activity was approved by MiCHWA for 12 CHW CEUs.

The exhibitor’s day is one day only, on Wednesday, May 15th, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Set-up is 7:30 am and tear down is 4 pm.
