Overview
MDHHS encourages Michigan’s Medicaid Health Plans (MHPs) to offer in lieu of services (ILOS) that address Medicaid members’ health-related nutrition needs. ILOS are services the state deems to be medically appropriate and cost-effective when provided as substitutes for other Medicaid-covered services.
Michigan Health Centers have a key role to play in helping eligible Medicaid Health Plan members in access ILOS services and support recipients in maximizing their food and nutrition benefits to achieve prevention goals and outcomes.
Through this informational two-part virtual series, MPCA will provide an overview of the ILOS policy and highlight specific opportunities for Health Centers to engage in ILOS services with their patients.
