Family Medical Center of Michigan is seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our patient centered dental team in Carleton, MI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and be proficient in various dental procedures. This role involves working closely with patients to provide high-quality dental hygiene services while ensuring their comfort and safety. The Dental Hygienist plays a crucial role in promoting oral health and educating patients about proper dental care practices.
Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings and periodontal assessments for patients of all ages, including vital signs monitoring and medical history reviews, ensuring accurate medical records are maintained.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for patient management and documentation.
- Implement infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain an organized workspace and ensure that all dental instruments are properly sterilized and ready for use.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience in a dental office or clinic setting, demonstrating proficiency in the following areas:
- Familiarity with dental terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Experience with EMR systems for documentation review and medical coding.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices within a clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist Licensure in the state of Michigan
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong attention to clinical and administrative detail
- Excellent communication and patient relations skills with patients of all ages
