Mid-Level Provider

Covenant Community Care, Inc. is a faith based charitable non-profit Community Health Center serving the people of Metro Detroit. As a Federally Qualified Health Center we provide integrated medical, dental, behavioral health care to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay.

We are looking for a full-time Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team of healthcare professionals.  Provider will rotate between our east and west side clinic located in Detroit.  You must have the ability to function effectively as part of a professional team delivering healthcare in a community setting and have demonstrated abilities for working in a multi-cultural setting. The successful candidate will possess either a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner License. Prior experience in an ambulatory care setting is desirable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Deliver primary health care and other health services to designated consumers of outpatient services as assigned and supervised by staff physicians in accordance with the mutually developed and signed collaborative agreement.
• Experienced in Pediatrics
• Serves as a representative of the physician, treating the patient in the style and manner developed and directed by the supervising physician.
• Refer to the physician, or maintains close consultation between the patient, mid-level, and physician for unusual or hard to manage cases.
• Provide consultation and health education.
• Dispense medications as licensed and renders first aid as necessary.
• Advocate for client’s best interest and makes appropriate recommendations and referrals for follow-up.
• Provides back up assistance to medical team to administer injections, draw blood, and take lab specimens as necessary.
• Review and respond to lab results, medical records and other patient results as part of the healthcare team.
• Document services delivered in a timely, accurate and prescribed manner, in compliance with the Covenant Community Care’s Quality Assurance Plan.
